The two mosquitoes known to carry Zika are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Both of these mosquitoes are common in Texas, including Garland. These Aedes mosquitoes are active throughout the day and into the evening. Therefore it is critical to protecting against mosquito bites both day and night.
If you are concerned that you may have Zika and have traveled to a Zika infected area within the last 28 days, please contact your local physician to see if you meet the requirements for Zika testing.
